There are some disciplines like Italy is famous for architecture courses, Norway is famous for Marine Science, Chip manufacturing technology ie. VLSI branch is not offered in India, so one can go to US. So, going abroad to study a particular technology which the country specialises in, will reap you benefits to up your skills. One should always factor in the cost of living before going abroad. It is always advisable to get good scores in your entrance exams like GMAT, GRE, SAT, etc and study in a good college to increase your chances of employment abroad and mitigate your risk. Other reasons to go abroad are flexibility in subject choices, less student to professor ratio, better facilities, gain global exposure, etc. Apart from cost of living and fee, what students usually ignore is whether they can accustom themselves to the climate, food, people, language, etc
